Rosecea, red spider veins (capillaries), red splotchy areas, pre-malignant cancers (red scaly hard bumps) is treated by the most advanced laser therapies
at Dr. Dean Kane’s Center for Cosmetic Surgery and Medi-Spa. Anything red can be lasered off on the face and body. Our V-Beam or Vascular Laser is
designed to destroy the red or the vascular portion of these blemishes and the body then reabsorbs the red cells that have been zapped by the laser beam.
The laser can cause temporary purple bruising. It can take 2-3 laser treatments done 4-6 weeks apart. The V-Beam is also excellent to remove the redness
out of scars. It often flattens the scar at the same time. Best time to get the redness out of a scar is closest to the occurrence of the scar. Scars less
than 2 years have the best results.
IPL and Fraxel Lasers are excellent to reduce the redness from Rosecea, red splotchy hues of redness on the face and general redness from sun damage.
The combination of IPL and Fraxel is a winning combo. The IPL minimizes the redness while the Fraxel Laser tightens and smoothes the creepy texture of
the skin. For people who have the hormonal red flushing on their necks and chests, old sun damage, broken capillaries and just general redness, Dr. Kane’s
advanced Laser treatments truly work.
The Center for Cosmetic Surgery and Medi-Spa under the direction of Dr. Dean Kane and Lauri Kane in Baltimore Maryland is the premier place to meet
all your advanced laser needs.

Dr. Dean Kane, Plastic Surgeon of Baltimore now offers his patients the newest version of Fillers that contain lidocaine: Juvederm Ultra, Restylane and Perlane now are not only more affordable, but much less painful.
Dr. Dean Kane, Plastic Surgeon of Baltimore now offers his patients the newest version of Fillers that contain lidocaine: Juvederm Ultra, Restylane and Perlane now are not only more affordable, but much less painful. It is now possible to be plumped and filled and with much less discomfort. Dr. Dean Kane from his Maryland’s Center of Cosmetic Surgery and Medi-Spa offers his patients the newest versions of Juvederm Ultra and Ultra Plus, Restylane and Perlane. So many patients who have wanted to have fuller and more defined lips but were afraid of the pain, now express the incredible difference the lidocaine has made for them. Both Allergan the makers of Juvederm Ultra and Ultra Plus and Medicis the creators of Restylane and Perlane now manufacture their fillers by pre-mixing lidocaine, a numbing medicine with the hylauronic gel fillers within the same syringe. Maryland patients of Dr. Kane are so pleased with not only the terrific results, but have a much more comfortable and positive experience of being injected by a filler.
So many patients ask two questions consistently: One, what is the difference between all the fillers? And two what is the difference between Restylane vs Perlane and Ultra vs Ultra Plus? The first answer is the same as the concept between Coke and Pepsi. As we described in an earlier blog for the difference between Botox and Dysport, the same applies here. It is two companies producing very similar filler products made out of hylauronic acid. Hylauronic acid is a natural substance found in our skin that gives us the plumpness in our face. When we age we tend to lose this plumpness and Dr. Kane uses these filler products to refill those areas of the face that have lost its fullness, such as the nasal folds, hollows under the eyes, marionette lines and any facial wrinkle lines.
The second question: What is the difference between Restylane and Perlane or Juvederm Ultra and Ultra Plus? The differences are basically the size of the molecular structure of the hylauronic acid gels. Both Perlane and Juvederm Ultra Plus are larger molecules which give a bigger volume fill and have been found to last longer from 8 to 12 months. Most patients opt for the larger gel size to achieve greater fill and better plumping with longer lasting effects.
Right now, Medicis is offering a mail-in rebate of $50 per syringe up to 3 syringes. Patients of Dr. Kane’s are saving in two ways. Dr. Kane has offered his own promotion, the more you use the more you save: 10% off of 1 Syringe, 15% off 2, 20% off of 3 or more. The combination of the two offers gives Dr. Kane’s patient’s savings up to $540 on 3 Perlane syringes. But Medicis is ending their mail-in rebate on March 31st, so patients need to act quickly if they want these wonderful savings.

Dysport versus Botox: Confused? Think of Coke and Pepsi: Dr. Dean Kane of Maryland Explains their differences in reducing wrinkles around the eyes, brows and crows feet.
Many Baltimore patients of Dr. Dean Kane from the Center of Cosmetic Surgery express their confusion by the two muscle relaxers Dysport and Botox. Dr. Kane tries to explain the differences very simply: the two muscle relaxers do very similar effects, but have minor differences. Dysport is made by the company Medicis who also make the well known fillers Restylane and Perlane. Botox is made by Allergan who produce their fillers Juvederm Ultra and Ultra Plus. In essence the two companies are making similar products that do similar rejuvenating effects. Dysport has been shown to last up till 4 months and begins its effects quicker, within 3-4 days. Botox is more well known because it has been on the market much longer. Botox effects last up to 3 months and can take approximately 14 days to achieve its full strength. Both Botox and Dysport are used around the eyes to reduce the wrinkle lines on the forehead, between the eye brows and the crow’s feet. Both can also be used around the mouth to reduce lipstick lines.
For consumers having two companies in essence producing similar products is very similar to Coke versus Pepsi. Just like Coke and Pepsi one week one is on sale and the next the other is offering a promotion. More choices to the consumers mean competition between the two companies and greater promotions. Right now Medicis is offering a wonderful $50 mail in Rebate up to 3 fillers of Restylane and Perlane or $150 money back. Medicis is also trying to get consumers to try Dysport and created the Dysport Challenge: Love it or Leave it. It’s a win win for the consumer. If you try Dysport, the consumer gets back $75 on their first treatment. The consumer has to go on line 15 days later and indicate whether they love Dysport or hate it. In either case, the consumer gets back another $75 rebate on their next Dysport OR Botox treatment depending on their response. The bottom line: Try it you May like it!! But you need to have the first treatment before April 30th to be eligible for the mail in rebates. To help you decide even more, Dr. Kane has offered his own Dysport and Restylane/Perlane promotions to all his Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Eastern Shore and Washington D.C. patients. So it’s a win win win!
