Mother's Day Celebration May 1 Benefits The Red Devils Dr. Dean Kane Cosmetic Surgery Center & MediSpa to Host

Event Raises Funds for June Heart and Sole Stroll for Breast Cancer Pikesville, MD April 9, 2010 – A day of beauty to salute mothers and support the breast cancer cause is planned for Saturday, May 1 to benefit The Red Devils.

The event is hosted by the husband-wife duo Dr. Dean Kane, MD, FAC, and Dr. Lauri Kane, RD, MPH, ScD, who operate The Center for Cosmetic Surgery and MediSpa located off Hook’s Lane in Pikesville, MD at 1 Reservoir Circle, Suite 201, where the event will take place from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  

Mothers, daughters, sisters and even male companions are invited to book services ranging from facials and Botox fillers to rejuvenating massages and enjoy a complimentary champagne brunch.

Services that day will be offered at a special discount.  Patrons are invited to make contributions of $10 or more to The Red Devils and sign up that day for the Heart and Sole Stroll, either as individuals, or register as part of a team formed by the Kane’s to support the June Stroll.  In addition, Dr. Dean Kane – a noted artist as well as cosmetic surgeon – is offering his artwork for sale to further benefit The Red Devils.

Dr. Kane works in mixed mediums to create collectible works of art, the larger pieces priced from $3,000 and up.  The surgeon-artist will sell his artwork that day, and on-line through the end of June, donating 50 percent of the proceeds to The Red Devils.  Samples of his work are found at www.DeanKaneArt.com.

This is the second in a series of events planned by the Center this year to benefit the non-profit and help raise funds and awareness for The Red Devils’ signature event of the year, the annual Heart and Sole Stroll taking place June 13 at Centennial Lake in Columbia.

Founded in 2002 by the families of Jessica Cowling and Ginny Schardt, who succumbed to breast cancer that same year, The Red Devils is a Baltimore-based 501 (c) (3) organization that funds services to improve the quality of life for Maryland patients and families living with breast cancer.

The Red Devils is funded through individual and corporate donations as well as contributions from foundations including the national as well as Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Social workers and nurse coordinators at 35 partner hospitals and breast centers refer patients to The Red Devils service providers to arrange such
complementary support as transportation to treatment; meals; house cleaning; and prescription drug assistance.

Dr. Dean Kane, Plastic Surgeon of Maryland will present on April 15th, 2010 A Breast Forum: Discover All your Breast Options from Breast Augmentations, Traditional and Donut Breast Lifts to Combinations of Breast Enhancements.

On April 15th, Dr. Dean Kane, Plastic Surgeon of Maryland will present A Breast Forum that will allow women to learn of all their Breast Enhancement
Options, from Breast Augmentations with Silicone and Saline Implants, to Traditional Breast Lifts and near scarless Donut breast lifts. Dr. Kane will
present this exciting lecture at his Baltimore Center for Cosmetic Surgery and Medi-Spa. Dr. Kane’s talk will teach women the differences between Breast
Augmentation with Silicone Gels and how they differ from Saline Implants. The new FDA approved Silicone Implants are called Memory or Cohesive Gel Implants
 because they do not leak if the outer shell should break. The older versions of Silicone Gel Implants if the outer shell broke would leak freely within the
 breast pocket. The new versions have been out over 3 years and remain intact if the outer shell should develop a break.

Dr. Kane will discuss the surgical approach he uses in the placement of the implants and incisions. In most of all his patients, Dr. Kane places the
implants under the muscle to reduce the appearance of the top edge of the implants. This placement allows for a more natural appearance. Dr. Kane
strategically creates his incision on the outer edge of the brown portion of the areolas. If the patient chooses Saline Implants he will use a one inch
incision and for Silicone Gel implants a two inch incision. Dr. Kane chooses this location on the breast as it the most direct approach to insert the
